I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of "Miss Flossie"-- I really enjoyed having her as my first grade teacher, and I'm sorry that I didn't know about her passing until my husband's sister told me about it... My condolences goes out to her family; as she will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her personally--.. Thanks...

When I was in first grade I did not like to go outside to play, I guess I was shy. Mrs. Smith would let me stay in and read a book, due to this I have always loved to read. I could not had asked for a better first grade teacher. I will miss you.

Mrs. Smith will always be one of my favorite people, and will always hold a special place in my heart. She was my first grade teacher, and she was an amazingly gifted, nurturing, and loving educator. I wish more teachers could be like her, and I know she gave me the strong educational background I needed. She was so important to Gilbert, and I can't imagine what the town or the people would be without her imprint. She is truly an amazing person, and I know I'm richer for having known her and for her mark on my life. I will always be grateful!

Gret, You can truly be honored to be the daughter of Flossie. She was an icon of our community and education in our area. When I think of Mrs. Smith, I think of her true honesty, fairness, and equal rights she held for others, without discretion of their position in society or finacial background. You really felt loved by her; and this is valuable trait. Flossie's poetry, sense of humor, and all other things that charmed her character made one desire to be around her. Please accept these things to be heartfelt, and I pray for God to comfort you and your family in this hour of need. My condolences, Vicki.

Mrs. Smith was such a wonderful person and educator. When I heard about her passing I started thinking back to grade school. My mind went back to us making Christmas ornaments. As an adult I know that I was blessed to have had such a wonderful teacher.

My prayers for the family. God will send peace and comfort in this time. Mrs. Smith was my first grade teacher. I have nothing but wonderful memories of her. She took such time with each student...seeing that each child had an individual need. She took the time to help each of us one on one. Truely she cared for us all. God Bless
