Obituary of Nancy Lee Harvey

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy Lee (Grimmett) Harvey, 90, of Bruno, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 13, 1933, at Sandlick (Bruno), she was the daughter of the late Roy and Brida Effie (Smith) Grimmett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Harvey of 58 years; one grand-daughter, Heather Lea Fazzan-Bartram and her son Alex Bartram; three brothers Rev. Robert Grimmett, Leslie “Ed” Grimmett, and Rev. Roy L. Grimmett; two sisters, Nevada Walker and Bertha L. Mullins; son-in-law, Raymond Ulrich; brothers-in-law, Ralph Walker and Avery Mullins; sister-in-law, Judy Grimmett-Wright. Nancy was a very kind and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was of the Freewill Baptist Faith, and faithfully attended the Gilman Bottom FWB Church and supported the local churches with her son at the Greenbranch FWB Church. She was a great worker for the Lord with her time, talent, and money. Nancy gave her life to the Lord in 1965, and she never once considered quitting on the Lord. The Church is where she met her life-long friend and sister in Christ, Ms. Stella Gray, who continued her support with cards and prayers and phone calls. Her prayers are to see everyone give their lives to the Lord, and meet her in Heaven. The song “I Don’t Regret A Mile – That I Traveled For The Lord” was not only the most requested song she sang, it is truly her testimony. To know her is to know the true meaning of Love, Family, and a Godly Woman. When you visited her, she would not only cook a meal, but she would shower you with gifts. She loved everybody. Those left to cherish her memory daily are her six children, Ervin Lee (Cheryl) Harvey and Edwina (Norman) Daniels, both of Ripley, WV; Annette Ulrich of Bruno; Guy (Rozetta) Harvey of Port Richey, FL; Regina (Robert) Payne of Man; and Nathan (Peggy) Harvey of Verner; ten grandchildren; Dianah Shorter, Wes Harvey, Matt Harvey, Joel Harvey, Shawn Potter, Slater Ulrich, Joshua Robert Harvey, Samantha Adkins, Justin Daniels, and Stuart Daniels; seventeen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren; special niece, Shirley Toler, and her daughter Vicky Neal, and special nephews Jim and Rick Grimmett, and Larry Mullins, and his son Mike and grandson, Evan; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. A special thank you to her QVC shopping friends Carl and Phil Crowder; her special doctor – Dr. Radha; and to Dignity Hospice Service, and to all those that sent food, and offered help and prayers. A celebration of Nancy L. (Grimmett) Harvey’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Sandlick FWB Church at Bruno with the Rev. Mike Mullins and Rev. Gary “Mike” Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby, where she will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons. Visitation will be held from noon – 2 p.m. Monday at the church also.
