Ryan James May

Of Mallory, WV

   Ryan James May, 34, of Mallory, departed this life on Monday, November 19, 2018, at CAMC-General Division.

   He was born November 19, 1984, at Logan, the beloved son of David Michael and Patricia Lynn Flannery May of Mallory.

   Preceding him death are his grandparents, W. F. and Carmel Thompson Flannery and James H. and Leona Browning May.

   Ryan was a 2003 graduate of Man High School, where he played baseball, basketball, and golf.  He also attended Wheeling Jesuit University where he was a member of the golf team.  Ryan worked in the computer field for several years.  He was passionate about animals, music, golf, and sports especially the New York Yankees.  An outdoorsman, Ryan enjoyed taking long walks in the woods with his dog Zimmie, the mountains, kayaking and fishing with his friends on the river, and the beach which was his favorite place to be.  Devoted to his family, Ryan loved his parents, his brother, Mike, his niece, McKenna Grace, and his nephew, Brody Michael.

   Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his parents, are one brother, Micheal Lee May of Chapmanville; one niece, McKenna Grace May; one nephew, Brody Michael May; his cousin, Stephen Bennie Flannery; his girl friend, Tamara Orcutt and her children; along with a host of friends.

   A Celebration of Ryan’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018, at the Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church at Man with Rev. Terry Stone officiating and with speaker, Eric Leary who was a dear friend of Ryan’s.

   Friends may gather at 2:30 p.m. at the church.

   In honor of Ryan’s wishes his remains have been cremated.
