Millard C. “John” Grimmett
Of
Millard Clinton “John” Grimmett, 84, of Davin, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, leaving from his earthly home, after a long illness.
He was born on September 18, 1934, at Davin, a son of the late Norman B. and Ruth Trimble Grimmett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Justice; and her daughter-in-law, Marsha Justice.
John was a coal miner for over 19 years who retired from Pittston Coal Company. He was a proud member of the UMWA District 17 and was a U.S. Army veteran. John attended
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Janet Sue Adkins Grimmett; five children, Clinton (Teresa Ann) Grimmett of Mallory, Sherry Lynne Grimmett of Davin, WV, Gary Steven Grimmett of Stanley, NC, Donna Sue (Michael) Bunch of Davin, and Margarita Renee (Lonnie) Fitch of Front Royal, VA; six grandchildren, Christopher Grimmett and Stacy Spaulding of Christian, Matthew Grimmett of Stanley, NC, Stephen and Dena Bunch of Davin, Leanna and Curtis Justice of Dallas, NC, Adam Bunch of Davin; and Paul Fitch of Front Royal, VA; five great-grandchilden, Alexis Grimmett, Xander and Zaylee Bunch, and Allison and Taylor Justice; and his late sister, Sylvia Justice’s children who John dearly loved Tommy (Elaine) Justice, Norman (Sherry) Justice, Mary (Ed) Nutter, Mickey Justice, Dorothy (Ben) Toler, and Jackie Justice; a special sister-in-law. Judith Broyles of Man; a special nieces, Shelia Sloane of Davin; special friends, Popeye Lester and Russell Brown; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at
