Of Gilbert, WV

   Gary Dean Simpson, 60, of Gilbert, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at his residence, after a short illness.

   He was born January 23, 1958, at Iaeger, a son of the late Ralph and Adell Browning Simpson.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Simpson; and one sister, Carnetta Simpson Keyser.

   Dean was a coal miner who was disabled after 20 years of mining.  He enjoyed the Guyandotte River, the R.D. Bailey Spill Way, and especially fishing.  Dean was a jokester and prankster.  He was the life of any party, making people laugh at his jokes and antics.  Dean loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed every minute he got to spend with them.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Charlotte Heatherman Simpson of Gilbert; two sisters, Tammy (Dana) Browning of Hanover and Mary Alice (Jeff) Testerman of Gilbert; one brother, James Simpson of Gilbert; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

   Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Gilbert Church of God at Gilbert with Rev. Sherman Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Gardens at Justice.

   Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbert Church of God.

   Pall bearers will be his Brother-in-law and Nephews.
