Rodney Gary Jacobs
Of Fort Payne, AL
Rodney Gary Jacobs, 67, of Fort Payne, AL, formerly of Man, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Fort Payne, AL, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with his sons by his side.
He was born on September 1, 1947, in Logan, WV, a son of the late Willis "Jack" and Helen Terezakis Jacobs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe
Jacobs; special nephew Christopher Jacobs, maternal grandparents, Michael and Gladys Terezakis, and paternal grandparents, Willis and Allie Jacobs.
Gary was a veteran of the US Army, and a retired coal miner.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two devoted sons, Rodney (Eileen) Jacobs, Jr. of Moline, IL, and Michael Lee Jacobs of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Gladys (Tom) Statzer of Man, WV; two brothers, Lucky (Tammy) Jacobs, and Tony (Doris) Jacobs both of Robinette, WV; three granddaughters, Cassandra Coyle, and Samantha and Madelaine Jacobs; three nieces, Brandy Statzer, Tiffany Jacobs, and Emily Jacobs, two nephews, Joey Jacobs and Ryan Johnson; and dearest friend George Politakis; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man, WV. Inurnment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV, where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 & American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.
