   Zachary Taylor “Z.T.” Brown, 74, of Madison Creek, went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2018, leaving from Dignity Hospice House in Chapmanville, after a courageous battle with COPD.

   He was born on November 4, 1943, at Madison Creek, a son of the late Joe and Hannah Jane Burgess Brown.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Juanita Vance, Geneva Smith, Mabel Gibson, Myrtle Adkins, and Alta Mae Burgess; and five brothers, Luther Garland Brown, Clarence Raymond Brown, Everett Brown, Marion Brown, and Lawrence Pack.

   Zachary was a disabled coal miner who worked for Chafin Coal Company for many years.  He was a member of the UMWA.  Until his illness, Z.T. enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and taking care of horses.  More recently he and his wife enjoyed watching Westerns and religious programs on television.  When he was able, he enjoyed going to church at Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church. Devoted to his family, Z.T. loved spending time with his family.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Helen Joyce Talkington Brown; three sons, Rodney (April) Brown of Dingess, Wesley (Tracie) Brown of Roaming Shores, OH, and Johnny (Suzanne) Brown of Warren, OH; two daughters, Angela Miller and her fiancé, Lonnie Bradley, of McConnell and Susan (Kenneth) Rose of Lyburn; 7 grandsons, Douglas Miller and his fiancé, Britney, Caleb Miller, Zachary Thomas (Denise) Brown, Samuel Rose, Zachary Allen Brown, Levi Pekarski, and Landon Brown; seven granddaughters, Sarah Rose, Taylor Brown, Isabella Brown, Sadie Brown, Lena Brown, Katherine Warner, and Elizabeth Warner; one great- granddaughter, Marie Miller; his sister, Betty Jo (Rev. John T.) Vance of Holden; his sister-in-law, Lahoma Brown of Accoville; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

   The family wants to send a special thank you to Jennifer Spaulding for the kindness and care she gave to Z.T. and his wife, Helen.

   Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery at Madison Creek.

   Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Lyburn Freewill Baptist and one hour prior to services at the church also.

   Pall bearers will be family and friends.
