Of Kistler, WV James L. Neace, 90, of Kistler, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a short illness. He was born on March 12, 1924, in Logan County, a son of the late Frank Albert and Mary Ethel Lowe Neace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Reynolds Neace; his brothers, Guy, Allen, and Earl Neace; and his sisters, Katherine Miles, Elsie Roberts, Margie Allen, and Hazel Neace. James was a coal miner for over 36 years, who retired from Arch of WV. He was a faithful member of the Becco United Baptist Church for 17 years. James was a marine during World War II, who fought in the Pacific campaign in Guam, Iwo Jima, 2nd Guadalcanal with the third marine division. He enjoyed gardening, going to church, visiting patients in the nursing homes, and encouraging everyone he met to give their hears to the Lord. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Wooten Neace; six children, Linda Carol Booth of Verdunville, James (Ellie) Neace, Jr. of Ohio, Charles Edward (Marilyn) Neace of Detroit, MI, Everett Lee Neace of Becco, Dwight Neace of Peach Creek, and Myrtle Ann Mullins of Rock Island, IL; one brother, Ralph Neace of Chicago, IL; one sister, Ernestine Belcher of Chicago, IL; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several step-children; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and his church family along with a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Lowe Family Cemetery at Kelly Mountain where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 & American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Pall bearers will be family and friends.
