Karen Sue Lusk Holbrook Woods, 66, of Greenvalley, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 4, 2018, leaving from the home of her mother, after a short courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 15, 1951, at Sand Lick, a daughter of Faye Evelyn Mosley Lusk of Kistler and the late Wannie Gleason Lusk. Karen was the disabled owner and operator of Karen's Beauty Bar for 18 years. She was a faithful member of Becco United Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aide and the Choir. Karen loved to sing praises to the Lord and especially enjoyed singing with her husband Larry and brother Doug. She was a talented quilter and crafter making quilts for every member of her family. Karen loved to meet at her mothers, with her sister Janet, and sister-in-law, Connie who together are known as the Golden Girls. She loved her summer home at Neola where the whole family gathered to garden and can. Karen was totally devoted to God, her family, and her friends. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry Allen Woods; two daughters, Denise (David) Booth of Lundale and BJ (Rev. Jason) Beaty of Stowe; her mother, Faye Evelyn Mosley Lusk of Kistler; three grandchildren, Kayla (Patrick) Karn of Nitro, David "Bubby" (Hunter) Booth of Cyclone, and Peyton Beaty of Stowe; three great-grandchildren, Rhett Harvey, Brynley Karn, and baby Booth due to arrive in November; one sister, Janet (Aubrey) Lusk of Kistler; three brothers, James "Bob" (Clara) Lusk of Braeholm, Wannie "Tinkie" Lusk, and Doug (Connie) Lusk, both of Kistler; two sisters-in-law, Vickie Barton of Haysi, VA and Marsha Woods of Clinchco, VA; two special friends, Jeannie Queen Carroll of Lundale and Medeta Watts of Justice; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
