Obituary of Charles Edward Caudill

Charles Edward Caudill Of Fairdale, WV Charles Edward Caudill, 68, of Fairdale formerly of Accoville, passed away and joined his loving wife on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Bowers Hospice House at Prosperity, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 12, 1949, at Crown, a son of the late Elmer "Happy Jack" and Florida Edith Queen Caudill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Patricia Lynn Jeffrey Caudill. Charles was a coal miner for 26 years before he became disabled in a roof fall. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping out. Many in the Fairdale area will remember him as a regular at Larry's Wrecker Service where he went daily to drink coffee and tell tales. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Charles Elmer (Allison Gail) Caudill of Bolt; one daughter, Misty (Tiawan) Howard of Berea, OH; two grandchildren, Dakota and Isaiah Howard, both of Berea, OH; four sisters, Martha Robinson and her fiancé, Jerry Miller, of Fairdale, Fredericka (Bobby) Mitchell and Carol Belcher, both of Accoville, and Sandy (Dale) Lusk of Bolt; two brothers, Jimmy (Debbie) Caudill of Combs Addition and Jack Caudill of Braxton County; his parents-in-law, Elmer, Jr. and Lounice Jeffrey of Johnson Heights; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darla Jeffrey and Johnny Jeffrey; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Jerry "Elwood" Brooks officiating. Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to services. In honor of Charles' request his remains have been cremated and will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at a later date.
