Laura Mae Bowens
Of Davin, WV
Laura Mae Bowens, 74, of Davin, joined her husband in their heavenly home on Saturday, March 31, 2018, leaving from the home of her son at Lundale, after an extended illness.
She was born January 8, 1944, in Pike County, Kentucky.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur "Buddy" Bowens; her mother, Zella Slone Belcher her step-father, William Hale Belcher; and two infant brothers, Ben Damron, Jr. and James Lynn Damron.
Laura was a loving, caring, and kind woman. She worked for years as a cook at many area schools. To her, the most important job she had in this life was being devoted to her husband and children. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Mark (Janice) Bowens of Lundale, Marcia (Steven) Lancaster of Davin, and Kimberly Bowens of Chapmanville; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Danielle) Bowens of County Line, Kayla (Donald) Johnston of Lundale, Alara Paige Bowens and James Bowens, both of Lundale, Brandon Adkins of Davin, Christopher Toth, Steven Toth, and Kassidy Toth, all of Chapmanville; five great-grandchildren, McKenna, James, Seth, Gage, and Lydia; four sisters, Bernie Jane (Glenn) Brankin, Geraldine Haynes, Zella Jean (Jerry) Smith, Brenda (Dale) Isaacs, and Ella Rhonda Damron; and two brothers, David (Gail) Damron and Michael Belcher; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man where a funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Isom officiating.
A family farewell service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby where Mrs. Bowens will be lovingly laid to rest beside her loving husband.
