Jessie "Bimbo" Stevens, Jr.
Of Greenvalley, WV
Jessie "Bimbo" Stevens, Jr., 58, of Greenvalley, departed this life Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at home, after a sudden illness.
He was born July 28, 1955, at Gilbert, the son of the late Jessie Stevens, Sr. and Emma Dean Ball Stevens.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary Plumley and Connie Stevens; and one brother, Arthur Stevens.
He was a disabled truck driver. Bimbo enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making things out of wood. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Yvonne Whitt Stevens of Greenvalley; children, Cliff (Christina "Essie Belle" Berry) Stevens of Greenvalley, Jessica Stevens (Keith) Stacy of Mallory, and Sabrina Stevens Roberts of Lancaster, CA; grandchildren, Adrienna "Sweet Pea" Stevens, Blake "Little Bubby" Stacy, and Chayden "Little Bob" Stacy; five sisters, Viola (Jackie) Grimmett, Vicky Stevens, and Carol (Walt) Jude, all of Gilbert; Elizabeth Arthur of Man, and Oma Jean Stevens of TX; two brothers, David (Pat) Stevens of Greenville and Mark (Veronica) Stevens of Boone Co.; and a very special brother-in-law, Phillip (Goldie) Whitt of Mallory; and several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, 1-18-2014, at the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church at Greenville with Rev. Baxter Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Claypool Cemetery at Davin.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
