Obituary of Raymond Ernest Grant

Raymond Ernest "Red" Grant Of Mallory, WV Raymond Ernest Grant, 72, of Mallory, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2014, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long illness. He was born January 10, 1942, at Emmett, the son of the late Newman Everett and Mattie Elizabeth Davis Grant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Paul Grant; one grandson, James Michael Smith; and two sisters, Janice Irene Sheppard and Marie Elizabeth Hall. He was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Pen Co Mining. He enjoyed working on cars and fishing. Devoted to his family, his favorite past time was spending time with them. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Brenda Kay Mullins Grant of Mallory; five children, Raymond Ernest Grant, Jr. of OH, Newman Everett (Beverly) Grant of Prichard, Cynthia Lynn Grant of Columbus, OH, April Lynn (Albert) Kolovich of Mallory, and Anna Marie (Jerry) Musso of Birmingham, AL; one brother, William (June) Grant; one sister, Donna Davis; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home. In honor of Red's wishes his remains will be cremated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
