Of Mallory, WV
Lois Ruth Lusk, 87, of Mallory, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at The Logan Center, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born on October 26, 1926, at Kitchen, the daughter of the late William and Ellen McDonald Fitz-Patrick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Lusk; three sisters, Rosie O'Neal, Mary Evans, and Irene Copley; one brother, Henry Willison; and a son-in-law, Mike McCoy.
Ruth was a member of Big Spring Missionary Baptist Church. She had formerly attended Mallory Baptist Church. A loving mother and grandmother, Ruth loved children and was known to the neighbor's children as "Mamaw Ruthie" and known to other family members as "Nootie". She loved her flowers and making people laugh.
Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Brenda (Valdus) Bailey and Sandy (Jeff) Laxton, both of Oceana, and Sharon McCoy of Mallory; one son, Bill (Kim) Lusk of Cook's Addition; ten grandchildren, Valerie (Charles) Lewis, Michael Bailey, Stephanie (Bobby) Riddle, Steven Clark, Melissa Clark, Brandi (Michael) Vanover, Kristi McCoy, Mika McCoy, Bill "Little Bill" Lusk, and Tiffany (David) Sanders; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Makayla, and Elijah Riddle, Abigail Ruth Lewis, and Grayson and Dawson Sanders; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Jonas Elliot and Rev. Zane Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be grandsons and family.
