Bernie Richard Kilgore, Sr.
Of Accoville, WV
In loving memory of Bernie Richard Kilgore, Sr., 48, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013, after injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Corbin, KY.
He was born on September 7, 1965, at Man, the son of the late George Kas and Louise Bowling Kilgore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Kilgore; and one sister, Ella Ruth Newsome.
Bernie was a 1984 graduate of Gallia High School at Galipolis, OH. He was an Army veteran who honorably served his country from 1984 until 1986. Bernie was a coal truck driver formerly employed with various companies. An outdoorsman, Bernie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling. Devoted to his family, he loved spending time with his children.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Cassandra (Brian) Huffman of Patriot, OH, Samantha (Sammy) Hisle of TN, John Arthur of Latrobe, Autumn Lynn (Chris) McKinney of Logan, and Bernie Richard Kilgore, Jr. of Accoville; his mother, Fredia Gail (Lonnie) Browning of Patriot, OH; five sisters, Linda (Robert) Stepp of Amherstdale, Ann (Rev. David) Gibson of Lorado, Darlene (Ballard) Walls and Mildred (Ricky) Adkins, both of Crown, and Phyllis Jean (David) Moore of Corbin, KY; four brothers, Rev. James (Ruth) Kilgore of Lick Creek, KY, Bennie (Joan) Kilgore of Beaver, KY, Eddie (Drema) Kilgore of Auburn, and George (Rachel) Kilgore of Amherstdale; his loving ex-wife, Chattie Kilgore of Accoville; his loving parents-in-law, Ruth and Tom Copley of Robinette; the mother of his son, John, and a special friend, Mary Arthur Pierson of Latrobe; a special niece, Jamie Walls of Robinette; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church at Lundale with Rev. Herbie Pruitt and Rev. Donald Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Chris McKinney, Richard Samson, Ballard Walls, John Arthur, and George, Eddie, James, and Bennie Kilgore.
