Terry Alan Doty, Sr.
Of Princeton, WV
Terry Alan Doty, Sr., 58, of Princeton, formerly of Man, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 19, 2013, from CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston after a long illness.
He was born April 14, 1955, at Logan, the son of the late Max Bing Doty, Sr. and Mary Alice Brumfield Harvey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Smith Doty; his step-father, Guy Harvey; one brother, Mark Timothy Doty; and one nephew, Bruce "B.J." Luna, Jr.
Terry was a disabled steel worker formerly employed with LTV Steel at Elyria, OH. Devoted to his family, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Before his illness, Terry enjoyed riding motorcycles. During the last few years, due to the immobility brought on by his illness, he enjoyed watching television and keeping up with his family and friends over the telephone. One hobby that stayed with him in sickness or in health was his love of music and his ability to play the piano and guitar.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Terry Alan Doty, Jr. and Trevor Paul Doty, both of Elyria, OH, and Tana Lynn (Justin) Doty Gargalianos of Lakewood, OH; five grandchildren, Rayanne Doty, Victoria Doty, Paul Doty, Kristen Doty, and Nikolas Gargalianos; two sisters, Darla (Kevin) Blankenship and Danita (Calvin) Vance, both of Princeton; two brothers, Max (Amy) Doty, Jr. of Princeton and Brent (Carrie) Doty of Narrows, VA; his step-mother, Von Doty of Man; his nieces and nephews, Timothy Doty, Jennifer Luna (Matt) Basham, Kristina (Andrew) Sheybani-Agdam, Tabitha Blankenship, Andrea Blankenship, Jonathan Doty, Mitchell Doty, Payton Doty; and one great-niece, Jayden Doty; and two great-nephews, Aaron Sheybani-Agdam and Tyler Doty; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man where funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating.
He will be laid to rest Monday at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
