Of Davin, WV
Ruth Ann Hatfield, 78, of Davin, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston, after an extended illness.
She was born March 4, 1935, at Lorado, the daughter of the late James Creed and Gladys Hoosier Vance.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Franklin Delano Hatfield; one daughter, Frankie Delores Lowe; one grandson, James Edward Lowe, II; one brother, Billy Ray Vance; and one sister, Ella Mae Vance Vanover.
Ruth Ann was a home maker and a member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man. She worked for many years as a sales clerk at Man Clothing and Jewelry at Man. Devoted to her family, Ruth Ann was always ready with a hug and a smile and was an inspiration to all who loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Patricia Sue Harvey of Davin; four grandchildren, Parish (Whitney) Harvey of Davin, Larry James (Kim) Harvey, II of South Man, Angela Michelle (Timothy) Ball of Bedford, VA, and Dustin Cody (Samantha) Harvey of Davin; seven great-grandchildren, Gage Arthur Harvey, Chase Austin Harvey, James Logan Ball, Haleigh Ann Harvey, Gavin Kane Harvey, Noah Creed Harvey, and Kendall Reese Harvey; two brothers, James Leanord (Shirley) Vance of West Milton, OH and Billy Paul (Cricket) Vanover of Davin, and their children, Paula Jean (Merwyn) Lasrado of Dale City, VA, William Derek Vanover of Manassas, VA, and Ashley (Anthony) Nelson of Alum Creek; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Roland Cook and Brother Robert Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall bearers will be Gage and Cody Harvey, Derek and Jason Vanover, Justin Elkins, and Timothy Ball.
