Obituary of Roger Gordon

Roger D. "Dino" Gordon, 50, of Gilman Bottom, joined his family and friends in Heaven on May 21, 2013, leaving this world from Pikeville Medical Center at Pikeville, KY after a short illness.
He was born July 12, 1962, in Logan, the son of Lou V. Gordon of Gilman Bottom.
Also preceding him in death were one sister, Margaret Bailey; his grandparents, Rev. Wetzel Tom and Rev. Annabelle Derrossette Bailey; and three aunts, Linda Bailey, Shirley Lusk, Charlotte Plumley; one uncle, Thurman Ellis; and one cousin, Joyce Christian.
Roger was a disabled coal miner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football. Roger was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but most of all he loved his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 23 years, Wanda "Jeannie" Gordon; three children, Emily Pack of Gilman Bottom, Bobby (Julie) Pack of Gilman Bottom, and Kimberly (Kenneth) Vance of Justice; four grandchildren, Hailee Pack, Dylan Porter, Ethan J. Duncan, and Desarae Pack, all of Gilman Bottom; one brother, Donald (Roxanne) Gordon of Gilman Bottom; special aunts and uncles, Ralph and Jeannie Christian, Dale Lusk, Paula Ellis, and Wetzel and Sandy Bailey, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Rosa Daniels of Uneeda; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Shirley and Roger Western, Glen and Lynette Daniels, Jimmy Daniels, Earl Daniels, Scottie Daniels, Dillard Daniels, Michael Daniels, Sue Pack, and Christie Daniels; many nieces, nephews, and cousins along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Gilman Bottom Freewill Baptist Church at Gilman Bottom with Rev. Eddie Isom and Rev. Billy Ray Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Daniels-Gunnoe Cemetery at Greenwood.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Gilman Bottom Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services.
He will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends.
