Of Sissonville, WV
Greta V. Toney, 88, of Sissonville, formerly of Lundale, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2013, from Eldercare at Ripley, after an extended illness.
She was born January 13, 1925, at Prenter in Boone County, a daughter of the late Eunice Quince and Agnes Letha Johnson Holstein.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Toney; one daughter, Juanita Toney; one grandson, Jay Robert Donnelly; and three sisters, Vivian Griffith, Eula Wiley, and Lurline Browning.
Greta was a home maker. She was a member of Humphrey United Methodist Church at Sissonville, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. Greta was a former clerk at the Island Creek Company Store at Lundale and a former cook at Lundale Grade School. She enjoyed making quilts.
Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Carol Donnelly of Titusville, FL, Jessie (Fred) McIlwain of MS, and Shirley (David) Toler of Wharton; three sons, James Robert (Ramonia) Toney, Jr. of Sissonville, Jess C. (Brenda) Toney of Brooksville, FL, and Robert Mark (Lenora) Toney of Cross Lanes; six sisters, Zola Sizemore of Brooksville, FL, Audrey (Woodrow) Keyser of Henlawson, Eurada Hill and Shirley Hepler, both of Logan, Treva Mattis of Hinton, and Drema (Wayne) Wells of KY; two brothers, Vencil Quince (Evelyn) Holstein of Williams Mountain and Erskin Earl (Donna) Holstein of Accoville; 13 grandchildren, Lea Ann, Kristy, Kathy, Chris, Vicky, David, Lisa, Jess, Jr., Angel, Donnie, Sabrina, Megan, and Jake; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Jess Toney, Jr., David Mullins, Andy Jack Lawrence, Jake Toney, Willie Gambill, and Donnie Maynard, Jr.
