Obituary of Daniel Joseph Bassham

Daniel Joseph "Joey" Bassham, 58, of Culloden, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House, of Huntington.
Joey was born March 14, 1955 in Logan, a son of Margie Bassham, of Logan and the late Paul Bassham of McConnell.
Joey was a 1973 graduate of Man High School and was looking forward to his 40th class reunion this summer. He enjoyed going to the beach and visiting family and friends, reading and watching NASCAR races. He also liked to cook and was known in the family for making the "best spaghetti sauce". He worked in Logan County as a coal miner for many years.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his life companion, Linda Cook Dent and her daughter, Stacy Dent, both of Culloden, grandson, Ethan whom he loved and enjoyed spending time with. He is also survived by brothers, Charles (Linda) Bassham, of Atlanta, GA, Paul E. Bassham, of Florence, SC, David Bassham of Huntington, Rick (Vicky) Bassham, of Foster, Tim Bassham, of Wheeling, sisters, Dora Leigh (Don) Deskins, of Daniels, Angie Bassham, of Man, and Vicki (Ron) Deardorff, of Titusville, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Joey's life will be 6:00 PM Friday, May 10, 2013 at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home in Man, WV.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5 until time of service Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Huntington.
