Bobby Roy Stacy
Of Kistler, WV
Bobby Roy Stacy, 80, of Kistler, departed this life to join his wife of 49 years on Saturday, April 27, 2013, from his residence after an extended illness.
He was born June 26, 1932, at Mallory, the son of the late James Stacy and Marie Jackson Stacy Goodman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Lea Allen Stacy; one son, Bobby Junior Stacy; one daughter, Mary Magalene Stacy; two brothers, James Stacy, Hobert Stacy, and Paul Goodman; one sister, Christine Johnson; one son-in-law, Jack Hicks; and one daughter-in-law, Pamela Mae Stacy.
Mr. Stacy was a coal miner for 42 years, who retired from Island Creek Coal Company in 1990. He was a member of the UMWA District 17 and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Stacy was baptized on November 22, 1987 at Mallory. When he was able, Mr. Stacy attended the Mallory Church of God. Devoted to his family, he was a hardworking man through out his life.
Those left to cherish his memory are five children, James Ralph (Paula) Stacy of Christian, Timothy (Lori) Stacy of Man, Kathy Hicks of Henlawson, Roy "Butch" Stacy of Kistler, and Robert Bruce (Angela) Stacy of Lyburn; two sisters, Linda (John) Bartrum of Princeton and Shirley Goodman of City View; two brothers, Bill (Lorraine) Goodman of Coal Branch and Gene (Pug) Goodman of Cora; 13 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Onna Withrow, Jason Stacy, Candace Stacy, Monica Stacy, Ryan Stacy, Joshua Hicks, Sheena Griffin, Tosha Ellison, Stephen Stacy, Kristen Browning, Haley Adkins, Brooke Frye, and Dawson Stacy; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Mallory Church of God at Mallory with Rev. Shaun Walker and Rev. Anthony Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mallory Church of God and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
