Obituary of Freddy Williams

Freddy "Pete" Williams Taplin, WV Freddy "Pete" Williams, 57, of Taplin, left this world Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his home. He was born March 11, 1955, at Logan, the son of Lou Elliott Williams of Robinette and the late Freddy Williams. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one nephew, Larry Williams; his maternal grandparents, Howard and Nellie Price Elliott; paternal grandparents, Bill and Mabel Booth Williams; and his great-grandfather, Rev. Harry Booth. He was a 1973 honor graduate of Man High School, where he was first chair trumpet in the Man High Hillbilly Marching Band and the Stage Band. After high school, Pete served in the Navy. He was a UMWA construction worker who worked all over the U.S. for many years. Pete enjoyed reading. He was an avid outdoorsman, naturalist, and hunter truly a free spirit. A loyal friend, Pete was very giving, trusting, and selfless. Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are one son, Nic Williams and his wife, Natasha, and their seven month old daughter, Mia Grace, all of Bloomingrose; one sister, LaDonna (Bobby) Bryant of Man; two brothers, Gary Lee (Geneva) Williams of Peterstown and Michael (Ashley) Williams of Robinette; his uncles and aunts, Winsel and Grace Elliott of Taplin, Clinton and Jean Collins of Davin, Homer Williams of Trenton, MI, Larry Williams of Dearborn, MI, Gladys Elliott of Neibert, and Linda Dillon of Danville; his ex-wife and mother of his son, Cindy Cazin Megerle of Ogdensburg, NY; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Keffer, Craig Bryant, Katie Ables, Jeffrey Williams, David Williams, Madison Keffer, Sydney Keffer, Payton Bryant, and Camryn Bryant; along with a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Taplin Free Will Baptist Church with Brother Sheldon Wells officiating. At Pete's request his ashes will be scattered by his son in the places he loved. Per Pete's wishes the family requests no flowers be sent.
