David Cleon Pennington
Of Bruno, WV
David Cleon Pennington, 80, of Bruno, formerly of the Buffalo Creek area, departed this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born July 13, 1932, in Lincoln County, the son of the late Hughie and Evia Mullens Pennington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eloise Pennington; his second wife, Helen Pennington; one sister, Betty Endicott; and one brother, Cletis Pennington.
He was a former coal miner and member of the UMWA district 17. Dave was a Christian and member of Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church where he loved playing the guitar and singing. A friendly person, Dave loved talking to everyone he met and witnessing for the Lord. He was always will to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice Rose Pennington of Bruno; sisters, Aleata (Perry) Maynard of Goose Creek, SC, Janet Gibson of KY, and Margaret (Jack) Bell of Wayne, MI; two brothers, Glenn (Patty) Pennington of Wyoming Co. and Jimmy Pennington of Nelsonville, OH; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved poodle, Snowball along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Donald Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may call one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
