Mr. Bernie Queen
Of Man, WV
Mr. Bernie Queen, 91, of Man, departed this life on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at his residence, after an extended illness.
He was born April 11, 1921, at , the son of the late Basil and Bertha Jones Queen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Juanita Katherine Queen.
Bernie was a purchasing agent who retired from Amherst Coal Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A member of the First Baptist Church of Man, Bernie was very active in the First Baptist Church's Food Pantry. He was a member of the Aracoma Lodge AF & AM #99 of Logan where he was a 33rd Degree Mason. Bernie was also a member of the Beni Kedem Shriners.
Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Terry Queen of Man; granddaughters, April (Carl) Goff of Logan, Heather (Larry) Peters of Man, and Destiny Queen of Kalamazoo, MI; one grandson, Joshua Queen of Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Bryce, Braxton, Summer, Ciera, Blake, Brennan, Alyssa, and Lexi-Jo along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Clyde Robertson and Rev. Wallace York officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall bearers will be Bryce Goff, Braxton Goff, Billy Watkins, Jimbo Watkins, Terry Queen, and Ron Wooten.
