Linda Politakis Schlager
Of Amherstdale, WV
Linda Politakis Schlager, 70, of Amherstdale, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.
She was born February 28, 1942, in Logan County, the daughter of the late John and Wanda L. Harvey Politakis.
Linda was a retired nurse formerly employed with Logan General Hospital for 27 years. She was a Christian of the Church of God faith. Linda considered being a mother her most important job and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed working puzzles, watching Paula Dean cook, Tiger Woods play golf, Dancing with the Stars, and NASCAR every Sunday. A good cook, Linda loved cooking for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Debra Browning of Amherstdale, Tim (Angela) Lovell of Chapmanville, and Greg Lovell of Amherstdale; five grandchildren, Gregory Lovell of FL, Krista (Chris) Duncan of Amherstdale, Nicholas (Maranda) Lovell of Chapmanville, Steven Craddock of Man, and Becca Lovell of Chapmanville; two great-grandchildren, Abigael Lovell of Chapmanville and McKenna Duncan of Amherstdale; one sister, Margaret Elswick of Knoxville, TN; and four brothers, John (Linda) Politakis of Summersville, David (Mary) Politakis of Baer, DE, Steve (Kathy) Politakis of Newark, DE, and George (Marsha) Politakis of TX; and her very special friend, Dolly Ratliff and her grandson, Jake, both of Kistler; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
