Dear Family, You don't know us, but we were friends of Kathy's from long ago when she lived in Oceana. She was our neighbor and we visited with each other often. Kathy was such a sweet and kind girl. Dear Family, You probably don't remember me or my husband, David Brown, but we were friends with Kathy many years ago in Oceana. We just learned about Kathy's passing by happenstance when my mother-in-law, Doris Brown, mentioned that her pastor, Jackie Grimmitt, had a death in his family. She stated that his daughter, Leah, lost her mother-in-law. I was trying to find out the arrangements for Doris when I realized it was the Kathy that we knew long ago. For several years we were neighbors and got to know Kathy very well. We soon became friends and visited her often. Kathy was such a kind hearted and sweet person. She was always thinking of others and never had a harsh word to say about anybody. I remember how she loved going to her maw-maw's for Sunday dinners at Bruno and I couldn't wait for her to get back home so we could hang out together. The last time we saw Kathy was at the Dairy Bar and she informed us she had two little boys. She was so proud of her little guys. She was a precious angel and left too soon. It was always a pleasure for mom and I to go into the Dairy Bar when both Kathy and Roger would be working. There were many laughs that we shared and many memories that we will always treasure.
