Michael Dale Adkins
Of Lorado, WV
Michael Dale Adkins, 45, of Lorado, departed this life Friday, February 24, 2012, at Lorado.
He was born March 16, 1966, at Man, the son of Eunice Adkins of Lorado and the late Delmar Adkins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Delmar Ray Adkins.
Michael was a 1984 graduate of Man High School, a 1992 graduate of the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at the Ralph R. Willis Vocational and Technical School, and was a 2002 graduate of the Registered Nursing program at SWVCC.
Michael was a nursing employee with Logan Regional Medical Center for 20 years, climbing the ranks as his education and experience allowed, from an LPN to a Registered Nursing Supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 13 years, Rebecca Lynn Chapman Adkins of Lorado; two daughters, Abbie Elizabeth Adkins and Bobbie Ellen Adkins, both at home; two sisters, Kathy (Sampy) Keene of Lorado and Betty Jo Adkins of Crites; one brother, Billy (Judy) Adkins of Cyclone; a brother-in-law who was like a brother, Chris Chapman of Charleston; his mother-in-law, Dovie Chapman of Lorado; a sister-in-law, Carla of Jeffrey; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Robinson officiating. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be Dana Wilson, Ronald Walls, David Walls, Jackie Stiltner, Eric Adkins, Jeff Moore, Chris Adkins, and Ronald Walls, Jr.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
