Of Dingess, WV
Barbara Jean McCoy, 55, of Dingess, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 5, 2011, from her home, after a long illness.
She was born November 18, 1956, at West Hamlin, a daughter of Rosalie Bateman Cooper Toler of Stollings and the late Winfield Cooper, Sr.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey McCoy; one brother, Richard Cooper; and one sister, Lucille Marcum.
Barbara was a home maker and attended various churches when she was able. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Gracie (Kenny) Laws of Lyburn, April (Rodney) Brown of Dingess, and Nathan (Melissa) Short of Lyburn; eight grandchildren, Alex and Kenna Laws, both of Lyburn, Zachary and Taylor Brown, both of Dingess, and Destiny Nelson, Jaide, Draven, and Nathan Short, all of Lyburn; three sisters, Denise (Danny) Perry of Stollings, Florence (Ray) Webb of GA, and Naomi VanBuskirk of Lake; three brothers, Ray (Becky) Cooper, Winfield (Connie) Cooper, Jr., and John (Juanita) Cooper, all of Rita; one brother-in-law, Walter Marcum of Lyburn; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Bernard Maynard officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family.
