Betty Jo Walker Hill
Of Cyclone, WV
Betty Jo Walker Hill, 78, of Cyclone, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 1, 2011, from the Springfield Regional Medical Center at Springfield, OH, after a long battle with multiple myeloma.
She was born August 1, 1933, at Lundale, the daughter of the late Elva C. and Lena O. Bailey Walker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hill; two sons, James A. Hill and Craig S. Hill; and two brothers-in-law, Burns Castle and Robert Cornelius.
Betty graduated from Man High School in 1952 and married her beloved husband, James E. Hill, in 1954. She was a longtime member of the American Baptist Women Association at the Lacoma Baptist Church at Cyclone. An avid gardener, Betty was active in the Hemlock Hills Garden Club at Man and the Honeysuckle Garden Club at Gilbert. A creative person, she enjoyed cross stitch, quilting, and playing the piano. Betty was a devoted wife and mother.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Daniel Hill and his wife, Susan, of Austin, TX; one daughter, Susan Fogarty and her husband, Tom, of Springfield, OH; two grandsons, Weston Hill and Bryson Hill, both of Austin, TX; three sisters, Lois Castle of Kettering, OH, Phyllis Cornelius of Gainesville, FL, and Marietta Digregorio and her husband, Anthony, of Fairfax, VA; three brothers, Ernest Walker and his wife, Rose Ann, of Davin, Elva Walker and his wife, Sandy, of Franklin, OH, and James Walker and his wife, Armilda, of Mallory; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 12 Noon Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Bill Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Kopperston.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. for family members and 11 a.m. for friends on Tuesday at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
