Prather Osborne
Of Cyclone, WV
Prather Osborne, 74, of Cyclone, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 19th, 2011, from his home, after a long illness.
He was born May 11, 1937, in Boone County, the son of the late Oscar and Julia Payton Osborne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Ricky Osborne; and a sister, Nancy Ann Bailey.
Mr. Osborne was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Eastern Associated Coal Company for 25 years. He was a member of the Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church at Main Huff. He was also a member of the UMWA local 1503.
Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Gail Daniels Osborne; one daughter, Diana (James) Powell of Louisburg, NC; one son, Charles (Pam) Osborne of Cyclone; three step-daughters, Angie Osborne, Stephanie (Martin) Hunt, and Crystal (Lonnie) Blankenship, all of Cyclone; one step-son, Curtis Osborne of Cyclone; one sister, Rosie Powers of Auburn; two brothers, Rev. Benny (Martha) Osborne of Mallory and Harold (Lou) Osborne of Auburn; one grandson, Michael (Natasha) Osborne of Cyclone; two granddaughters, Savanna (Adam) Hatfield of Cyclone and Harley Powell of Louisburg, NC; three step-granddaughters, Charity Hunt, Laken Osborne, and Madison Blankenship, all of Cyclone; three step-grandsons, Chandler Hunt, Little Lonnie Blankenship, and Kaiden Osborne, all of Cyclone; one great granddaughter, Jaidyn Hatfield of Cyclone; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the Toler Baptist Church at Campus with Rev. Billy Gibson, Sr., Rev. Jackie Lusk, and Rev. Billy Gibson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Toler Cemetery at Toney Fork.
Visitation will be held from 6-10 p.m. Tuesday at Toler Baptist Church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Michael Osborne, Adam Hatfield, Curtis Osborne, Carl Smith, Jr., Danny Gibson, and Sonnie Toler.
Honorary pall bearers will be Jerry Toler, Danny Gibson, and Sonnie Toler.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
