Of Greenville, WV
Vonnie E. Brown, 74, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 26, 2011, from her home, after a short battle with lung cancer.
She was born March 28, 1937, at Greenville, the daughter of the late James and Ada Grimmett Glenn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Glenn, Mason Glenn, and Freddy Glenn; and three sisters, Mamie Meade, Joy Austin, and Irene Wilmont.
She was a home maker. Vonnie attended the Accoville United Methodist Church at Accoville, where she was active in the Accoville United Methodist outreach program and the Bible School program. She was a wonderful wife and mother who was a caring neighbor and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Joseph Don Brown, Jr. of Greenville; one daughter, Shannon Brown of Greenville; two sons, Dennis Brown of Greenville and Josh Brown of Greenville; one sister, Faye Powers of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Accoville United Methodist Church at Accoville with Rev. Kit Meade, Rev. Richard Chambers, and Rev. Norman Harvey officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Accoville United Methodist Church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Frank Carr, Chris Cline, Joey Cline, Jay Moore, Timmy Brown, Logan Key, and Chris Clay.
