Mary Ruth Dreaden Corns
Of Davin, WV
Mary Ruth Dreaden Corns, 69, of Davin, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011, at CAMC-General Division, after a sudden illness.
She was born June 24, 1942, in Humphries County, Tennessee, and grew up in Waverly, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Woody "J.D." and Thelma Loreen Oakley Dreaden.
Ruth married Jim Corns on May 9, 1958, and moved to Davin where she resided for the rest of her life. She greatly enjoyed growing flowers and plants, both inside the house and in her outside gardens. However, her family was the most important thing in her life. She always put the family's needs before her own. She was a proud respite provider for her grandchild who has special needs. Baptized in the Christian faith, Ruth had strong beliefs which she honored through out her life.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Jim; her daughters, Sharon Doss and her husband, Barry, of Charleston and Lori Mitchell of Davin; one son, James Alvis Corns Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Pecks Mill; seven grandchildren, Jacob Doss, Joey Mitchell and his girlfriend, Jessica Sanders, Amber Mitchell, Mark Corns, Brooke Corns, Austin Smith, Paige Corns; four sisters, Brenda Miller and her husband, Billy, Wayna McAdams and her husband, Howard, Doris Butler, and Shirley McIllwain; and her brother, Donald "Donnie" Dreaden and his wife, Cheryl, all of TN; one brother-in-law, Joe Corns of Davin; and one sister-in-law, Jean Corns of Davin; and many nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Butch Cobb and Brother Robert Perry officiating.
