Irma Jean Curry Hampton
Of Detroit, MI
Irma Jean Curry Hampton, 75, of Detroit, MI formerly of Verdunville, WV, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 24, 2011, from Trinity Health Care at Logan, WV after a short illness.
She was born December 3, 1935, at Verdunville, WV, the daughter of the late Will and Ellen Spry Curry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana McKennon; two sisters, Faye Williamson and Marie Ronas; and two brothers, Cleve and Harrison Curry.
Irma was a health care worker who helped take care of disabled people. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Detroit, MI.
Those left to cherish her memory are three grandsons, Shawn, Shane, and Eric McKennon of Detroit, MI; two great-grandsons; one sister, Freda Hoebeck of Battle Creek, MI; one brother, Claude (Jo) Curry of Lundale, WV; and many nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be her nephews, Cleve Curry, Frankie Curry, Claude Curry, Jr., Johnny Curry, Chuck Phipps, and Eric Curry.
