Mitchell Wesley Toler
Of Kistler, WV
Mitchell Wesley “Mitch” Toler, 45, of Kistler, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 4, 2011, from Select Specialty Hospital at Charleston, after an extended illness.
He was born December 3, 1965, at Man, a son of the late Simon David and Lula Jane Grimmett Toler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Toler; and his grandparents, Elliott and Margie Brown Toler and Roy and Lula Ellis Grimmett.
Mitch was a 1984 graduate of Man High School, where he excelled at football, baseball, and basketball. He also played summer league soft ball. Civic minded, Mitch was a volunteer fireman at Station 200 and 1200 from 1990 until his illness. An outdoorsman, he loved to fish, hunt, and 4-wheel. He enjoyed talking to his facebook friends and playing computer games. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa who loved playing with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Cook Toler; one daughter, Brandy (Andy) Williams of Kistler; one son, Eddie (Jami) Charles of Man; two grandchildren, Joci Stevenson and James Edward Charles, both of Man; two sisters, Lynn (Terry) Ellis and Lisa (Robert) Justice, both of Greenville; two brothers, Rick Toler of Greenville and Chris (Loretta) Toler of Ft. Smith, AR; a brother-in-law he considered to be a brother, Ty (Amy) Cook and their daughter Bailey Jo who was like a granddaughter to him; eight nieces, Heather (John) McCoy, Whitney Justice, Allison (Robert) Rose, Becky Toler, Mary Catherine Ellis, Shelly (Jamie) Parker, Angela Toler, and Ashley Toler; and three nephews, Terry Lee Ellis, Robert “Bub” Justice, and Mark David Toler; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Davin Baptist Church at Davin with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Rev. David Campbell officiating.
At Mitch’s request, the remains have been cremated.
