Bill Wade Milton
Of Accoville, WV
By God’s amazing grace, Mr. Bill Milton, 81, of Accoville got the promotion of a life time. Early Saturday morning he was escorted to heaven from Logan Regional Medical Center, to be greeted by the love of his life Gracie Milton and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He left this world surrounded by his family and friends that loved him very much.
He was a hard working retired coal miner, having last worked for Buffalo Mining. Bill was a former member of the Greenbranch Free Will Baptist Church and was an active member of the Becco United Baptist Church. Before becoming ill he enjoyed so much visiting the sick at the hospitals, nursing homes, and individual homes. Anyone and everyone that wanted to hear about the Lord, Bill made a way to talk to them. Due to his health he was a patient at Logan Regional Medical Center numerous times and became very attached to the nurses on the 4th and 5th floors. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was going fishing with his sons or just sitting on the porch waving to his friends as they drove by his house. He loved his friends and treated them as family just as they treated him as family. But of all of the accomplishments in his life, the one he was the most proud of was that in 1971 he gave his heart and life to the Lord and became a Christian. Bill loved the Lord with all of his heart and enjoyed going to church when he was able.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Gracie Sostrich Milton on April 7, 2009; his parents, Harry Kenneth and Pearl Pauley Milton; a brother, Kenneth Milton; an infant brother, Freddie Joe Milton; six sisters, Virginia Adkins, Alice Brown, Lorraine Spry, Juanita Paxson, Tommy Lucas, and Elizabeth McNeely; a granddaughter by marriage, Vicky Albright; and his dog, Baby.
Those left to cherish his memory are three sons, Johnny (Lovette) Milton of Accoville, Billy (Marty Hatfield) Milton of Braeholm, and Kenneth Milton of Kistler; three daughters, Donna Browning of Aracoma, Carolyn Milton at home, and Jeanne (David) Fry of Stollings; two sisters, Freda Jean Perry of Toledo, OH and Connie (Wayne) Rupp of Lambertville, MI; 13 grandchildren, Terry (Kelly) Albright, Mark Albright, Kristy (Tom Bias) Albright, Teresa (Marty) Green, Lee Ann (John) Tackett, Tracy (Becky) Milton, Jeaneil Clark, Billy (Angel Hobbs) Williams, Kayla (Mark Bryant) Milton, Wayne (Tina) Fry, Kenneth Milton II, Tabatha Hatfield, and Steven Ritz; and 14 great-grandchildren, Kristen Hardin, Trevor Hardin, Makaylie Green, Marty Green II, Jonathan Milton, Samuel Milton, Caleb Milton, Arianne Milton, Matthew Smith, Isabella Clark, Devin Williams, Alyssa Williams, Blake Fry, and Ashton Fry.
The family would like to thank his very special care givers, Alice Pierson, Glenda Sue Bartram, and his granddaughter, Jeaneil “Oobie-Doobie” Clark for all their love and taking such wonderful care of him.
Funeral services will commence at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco with Rev. Denver McClellan Jr. and Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
