Patrick L. Donahue Sr.
of Mallory, WV
Patrick L. Donahue Sr. passed away on Sunday, July 06, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Pat was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was happiest when he was in the mountains hunting, especially with his two sons Patrick and David. He also cherished spending time with his sons at their hunting property in Gilmer County, the Bomberosa, which was named by his father. He loved his country, family and was so proud of his two sons Patrick and David. David has served 18 years in the US Navy, with several combat deployments. Pat was a loving husband, father and grandfather and his memory and legacy will live on with all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford "Itsy" Donahue and mother, Irene V. Donahue.
Those left to cherish his love are his wife, Opal Donahue; his five children Patrick (Stephanie) Donahue of Chapmanville, David (Tara) Donahue of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael (Rhonda) Goad, Deborah (Burgess) Blankenship, and Kim (Dale) Smith, all of Matewan; two special brothers, Mike (Barbara) Donahue of Jacksonville, FL and Phillip E. Donahue of Mallory; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his two fur babies, Gizmo and LUCKY!
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating assisted by Brandon Blankenship. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services also.
Pallbearers are Patrick and David Donahue, Richie Mitchell, Brandon Blankenship, Dale Smith, Michael Goad, and Jason Hess.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Donahue, Phillip Donahue, and Danny Mills.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
