Edna Anderson
Of Greenville, WV
Edna Anderson, 92, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 15, 2010, from CAMC-General Division, after a sudden illness.
She was born July 9, 1918, at Taplin, a daughter of the late Oliver and Nancy Ellis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Anderson; four daughters, Barbara Anderson, Helen Bailey, Judy Schneider, and Maye Blankenship; two sons, Danny Joe Anderson and Vernon Glenn Anderson; and two brothers, and Millard Ellis and Roel Ellis.
Edna was a home maker and a soldier for the Lord. She was a charter member of the Hunt Baptist Tabernacle at Hunt, where she was a long time member of the Ladies Aide and served as the church clerk. Edna was an inspiration to all who knew her and her wisdom will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are six children, Norman (Dorothy “Dot”) Anderson of Brighton, TN, Shirley Shull of Hunt, Kathy (Rocky) Morgan of Elk Creek, Patty (David) Olson of Ripley, TN, Charles Anderson of Covington, TN, and Bobbie Anderson of Greenville with whom she made her home, 17 grandchildren, Donna, Jr., Mike, Barb, Frankie, Kenneth, Tif, Chad, Charlie, Carla, Rhonda, Glenna, Little Glen, Hunky, Tonya, Brian, and Mark; 36 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and her church family along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010, at the Hunt Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Donald Ellis and Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest beside of her husband Ray in the Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hunt Baptist Tabernacle and one hour prior to services at the church.
Pall bearers will be Jimmy Justice, Timmy Justice, Jerry Justice, John David Justice, Pudgie Grimmett, and Jim Ed Perry.
Honorary pall bearers will be Dickie Trent, Rev. Clarence Blankenship, Barry Frye, Kenny Workman, Leonard “Buddy” Ellis, Jerry Perry, Frank Vance, Danny Browning, Clifford Browning, Phillip Collins, Larry Collins, and Louie Grimmett.
