Mack Arthur Mays
Of Madison Creek, WV
Mack Arthur Mays, 65, of Madison Creek, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 14, 2010, from his home after a long illness.
He was born March 18, 1945, at Yolyn, a son of the late Gilbert Edward and Bessie Mae Walker Mays.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Chippent; one sister, Dorothy Mae Mays; and two brothers, Orville Mays and Donald Gene Mays.
He enjoyed going to church and hunting when he was able. Mack loved to read his Bible and spend time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Word of Life Church at Mud Fork.
Those left to cherish his memory are three children, Loretta “Lynn” (David) Vance, Thrina (Mike) Jeffrey, and Ada (Robert) Perry, all of Madison Creek; five sisters, Alice F. Gullett, Mary L. Mays, Cora L. Mays, and Karen S. Vanatter, all of Madison Creek, and Teresa Dalene (Michael) Burgess of Oak Grove, KY; one brother, Arnold “Duke” Mays of Madison Creek with whom he made his home; seven grandchildren, David and Courtney Vance, Kelsey and Emily Jeffrey, Brittany Chippent, and Timothy and Michael Perry; six great-grandchildren; special cousins, Helen White, and Bob, Joe, and Lacy Mayberry; many nieces and nephews; a special in home health nurse, Nancy Bryant; and a special CNA, Jennifer Spaulding; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Pastor Josh VanHooke officiating. Burial will follow in Mullins Cemetery at Lyburn.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
