Of Lorado, WV
Jean Cook, 79, of Lorado, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2014, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a long illness.
She was born on December 26, 1934, in Logan County, a daughter of the late Fred and Mable Lowe Cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Cook, Jr. and Jackie Cook; and two sisters, Mary Adkins and Shirley Lankas.
Jean was an employee of the Logan County Board of Education for 41 years.
Those left to cherish her memory are five children, Pamela (Jody) Albright of Lorado, Connie Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kim Workman and Haven Marine of Asheboro, NC, Kelly Hubbard of Surveyor, and Jackie Fred Cook of Lorado; one sister, Ruth (Tom) Copley; a very special niece, Rosalyn (Bobby) Beddow; grandchildren, Heidi Crowder, Greg Edwards, Heather Williams, Ashlee Edwards, Kristina Christian, Little Haven Marine, Megan Christian, Jessica Cook, Jackalyn Cook; great-grandchildren, Jaymie Dowdy, Liam Dowdy, Hunter Williams, Carson Williams, Kenzie Marine, Zevie Marine, Briston Marine, Baby Hayven Marine, Tommie Jo Phillips, Grayson Christian, Sadie Rae Harper, and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kenny Bevins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Jackie Fred Cook, Greg Edwards, Haven Marine, Paul Wise, Dale Adkins, James Dowdy, Danny Williams, and Chad Preston.
