Roger Lee “Jim Tom” Lamb
Of Bruno, WV
Roger Lee “Jim Tom” Lamb, 64, of Bruno, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington.
He was born July 14, 1946 in Bruno, a son of Frances Harris Lamb of Bruno and the late Elmer “Tag” Lamb.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his half brother, James Cecil Lamb.
Jim Tom was club manager of Triadelphia Country Club Golf Course for numerous years and a member of the UMWA District 17. He was a dozer operator for Belva Coal Company and was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Linda Lou Grimmett Lamb of Bruno; one daughter Regina Lynn Lamb of Gilbert; one son, Roger William Lamb of Bruno; a special mother-in-law, Doris Grimmett of Bruno; three brothers, Elmer “Hawk” Lamb and his wife Linda, Ronald “Cobb” Lamb and his wife, Beth both of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, and Jerry Lamb of Bruno; two sisters, Joan Grimmett and her husband, Arlon of Bruno and Karen Sue Callison and her husband, Mark of Mallory; two half sisters, Betty Reed and her husband, Orville of Dearborn Heights, MI and Marge Sorrell of Westland, MI; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Harrison Williamson and Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Pall bearers will be family members and friends.
Honorary pall bearers will be Dennis Parton, Ranny Gibson, Hershel Carter, Bobby Toth, Brad Layne, Roger Foxx, Howard Lee, Reed Trent, Harrison Williamson, Arlon Grimmett, Yank Williamson, and Orville “Jr.” Reed.
