Rev. Nellie Ellis Caserta
Of Man, WV
Rev. Nellie Ellis Caserta, 91, of Man, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 27, 2014, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness.
She was born March 25, 1923, Landville, a daughter of the late Griff and Molly Mullins Ellis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lance Castera; one granddaughter, Richelle Dawn Caserta; one son-in-law, Paul Scott; and several brothers and sisters.
Nellie along with her husband, Lance, were founding members of the Crown Holiness Church at Crown. When she was able, she enjoyed growing flowers and singing in church. Nellie loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are eight children, Gladys Scott and Richard (Dorothy) Caserta, both of Logan, Lance Alvin (Lisa) Caserta of Columbus, OH, Charles (Lahoma) Caserta of Barboursville, Randy (Ruth) Caserta of Braeholm, Joel "Motey" Caserta of Amherstdale, Lana Spears of Lundale, and Timothy (Diana) Caserta of Garretts Fork; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Faye Cox of Columbus, OH; one brother, Artle Ellis of Branchland; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Charles Caserta officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home also.
Family members will serve as pall bearers.
