Paul Wesley Hager, Sr.
Of Mallory, WV
Paul Wesley Hager, Sr., 69, of Mallory, went to be with the Lord and join his family in heaven Sunday, June 20, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan after an extended illness.
He was born October 21, 1940, at Accoville, a son of the late Ballard Wesley and Audrey May Blankenship Hager.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Dawn Hager; and one sister, Linda Carol Hager.
Paul was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Powellton Coal Company and M & H Coal Company. He was a member of UMWA District 17. Paul took the Lord into his heart before he passed away and was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed working on automobiles, collecting model cars, and gardening. A dedicated family man, Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren. A dog lover, Paul’s canine best friends are Sparky, Stone, and Sissy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 49 years, Lois Ann Powers Hager of Mallory; one son, Paul Wesley Hager, Jr. and his wife, April Parsons, of Mallory; two daughters, Audrey Irene Christian and her husband, Herman who thought of Paul as a Dad, of Mallory and Angel Dawn Collins and her husband, Dennis, of Greenvalley; five grandchildren, Crystal Ann and Paula Nicole Christian of Mallory, Haleigh Elizabeth Hager of Oakwood Addition, Huff Creek, and Cynthia Hoppis and Joshua Parsons, both of Mallory; a caring friend and caregiver, Larry “Batman” Simpkins of Mallory; one great-granddaughter, Jade Maddisyn Collins of Greenvalley; two sisters, Geraldine Hager Lacy of Columbus, OH and Tanya Hensley of Crown; several nieces and nephews, special friend, Fern Ruiz of ARH, his home health nurses, Nancy Bryant and Lynn Mills; dedicated nurses at LRMC, Wendy Hensley, Alex Mullins, Mary Huffman and the rest of the 5th Floor staff; caring doctors, Kathy Harvey and Rachel Stover; and a special friend, Miranda Muncy at Family Health Care in Man; along with a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Denver McClellan and Rev. Larry Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Dennis Collins, Larry “Batman” Simpkins, Herman Christian, Bert Price, Corey Parsons, and Joshua Parsons.
