Edith “Goggy” Blankenship
Of Bruno, WV
Edith “Goggy” Blankenship, 87, of Bruno, joined her husband in their heavenly home Wednesday, May 27, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan after an extended illness.
She was born May 8, 1923, in Logan County, a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Lyall Carter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Blankenship; two sisters, Imogene and Ruby Carter; and two brothers, Estil and Dempsey Carter.
Edith was a home maker and an avid gardener. A Christian, Edith has realized the promises of her faith.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Norma (Nick) Musser of Barboursville; two grandchildren, Tommy and Timmy Musser of Barboursville; two special step-grandchildren, Brandon and Amy Blankenship of Man; four great-grandchildren, Ashlie, Chelsie, Trinity, and Niteria, all of Barboursville; four sisters, Shirley Gillispie of Bruno who was Goggy’s special caregiver, Betty Bowens of Danville, Lula Browning of Clayton, NC, and Louise (Billy) Dillon of Huntington; three brothers, Dewey Carter of Columbus, OH, Donald “Bob” Carter of Logan, and Earnest (Mary) Carter of Conway, SC; many nieces and nephews, special neighbors, Sharon and Leander Workman of Bruno; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Alford Setzer assisted by Rev. Woodrow Gillispie.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man is in charge of the arrangements.
