Lenora Smith
Of Davin, WV
Mrs. Elenora “Lenora” Carter Smith, 75, of Davin went to be with the Lord Monday, April 12, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
She was born December 25, 1934, at Henderson on Harts, a daughter of the late Ed and Effie Mullins Carter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Shade Smith on November 10, 2009; four brothers, Don Carter, Joe Carter, Burgess Carter, and Ed Carter Jr.; two sisters, Donzel Nester and Lucinda Workman; and four infant siblings, Tipsey Carter, Thelma Carter, Garnet Carter, and Troy Carter.
Lenora was a faithful member of The Davin Church of Christ at Davin. Her hobbies included sewing, making quilts, reading, and working puzzles. Devoted to her family, she loved spending time at home with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are seven children, Susie Smith and Shade Anthony Smith, both of Davin, Anne (Chuck) McNeely of Taplin, Rupert (Sandy) Smith of Kistler, Randy (Karen) Smith of Stanley, NC, Everette (Judy) Carter of Marlington, and Charles Smith of Oceana; one sister, Alma Baisden of Dingess; one brother, Franklin (Audra) Carter of Mt. Gay; nine grandchildren, Christopher Smith of Willow Springs, NC, Benjamin McNeely of Taplin, Jamie Smith of Davin, Sherry (Steve) Boggs of Nitro, Kevin Bartram of Stanley, NC, Heather (Adam) Nelson of Robinette, Stephen Bunch of Davin, and Brittany Lusk and Morgan Justice, both of Man, five great-grandchildren, Courtney and Devin Smith, both of Man, Luke and John Boggs, both of Nitro, and Kevin Bartram III of Stanley, NC; many nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Minister James Farley officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Family Cemetery at Harts.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
