Ronald Copley
Of Davin, WV
Ronald Copley, 77, of Davin, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a short illness.
He was born November 6, 1940, at Bruno, a son of the late Walter and Lena Rosser Copley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Murhl Copley.
Ronald was a retired coal miner who worked for various companies in the area. He was a faithful member of the Davin Baptist Church. Ronald enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, and riding 4 wheelers and side by sides in the mountains. He had a big heart and friendly smile. Ronald was always willing to help anyone at any time whether offering a listening ear or called to action. Devoted to his family, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Kay O'Neil Copley; two sons, James (Debbie) Copley of Winston-Salem, NC and Ronald Copley, Jr. of Oak Hill; two daughters, April (Kevin) Sumner of Baltimore, OH and Sheila McClure of Blair; five grandchildren, Paul David (Cathy) Vance of Lundale, Justin (Nakita) Vance of Amherstdale, Erik (Christy) Toler of Pikeville, KY, and Charles (Latasha) Ellis and Jeremy Ellis, both of Columbus, OH; five great-grandchildren; Karly, Madelyn, Paul David III, Peyton, and Noah; one sister, Gloria Stafford; and two brothers, Wallace (Margaret) Copley and Ralph Copley; along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Davin Baptist Church at Davin with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Rev. Tommy Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to services also.
