Virginia Toler
Of Burbank, OH
Virginia "Jenny" Faine Booth Toler arrived at her heavenly home on Thursday, January 4, 2018.
Jenny was born near Logan, WV on November 7, 1929, a daughter of William Riley and Sarah Belcher Faine. Her grandparents were Lewis and Marietta Browning Belcher and James Madison and Sarah "Tilay" Prince Faine. She will also be met in Heaven by grandson, Joshua Slone; three sisters, Mary Faine Merritt, Catherine Faine Lambert, and Melissa Faine; brother Daniel Faine; her first husband, James P. Booth; and second husband, Johnny Toler.
Jenny was a loving mother with three children, Barbara "Polly" Faine Donahue (Mike) of St. Johns, FL, Kathy Sue Booth Slone (Orda) of Seville, OH, and Helen Booth Rivera (Tano) of Grafton, OH. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Clyde Patrick Maynard (Amy) of Huntington, WV, Michelle Maynard of Medina, OH, Lisa Leguizamon French of Asheville, OH, John Donahue and Kelly Donahue Evans (Bo) of St. John's, FL. From those grandchildren there are twelve great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Autumn Maynard, Mia Pappas, Brendan, Lilly, Victoria, Emily, and Jackson French, William, Sophia, and Ella Evans, and Michael Donahue II. Jenny dearly loved her family and had a special niece, Nancy Bourne of Taplin, WV who gave her love and care during the early years of her illness.
Jenny's life was 88 years long and never easy. Her mother passed away from cancer when she was about nine years old and her father, a coal miner, died one month later. For a time Jenny was placed in a WV orphanage. A year later her older sister, Mary and husband, Shirley Merritt, moved Jenny and her younger sister, Melissa, into their home in Earling, WV. Jenny once said that she thought of Mary as a second mother. Their home was always clean and dinner with pinto beans and cornbread was on the table each evening.
Jenny went to Man High School and lived in the Man area all of her life. She became a mother at the age of 19 and again she and the baby lived in the Merritt home. Jenny first married James "Crockett" Booth, a widower, in December 1949 in Boyd, KY. After about twenty years of marriage Jenny and James divorced and she married Johnny Toler. The last eight or nine years of her life were spent in a long term care nursing facility near her daughters, Helen and Kathy Sue in OH. Although Jenny was ill for many years, she continued to recognize her children over the years and enjoyed music, getting her hair done, and family visits. Her last birthday at 88 years was spent with family. She always enjoyed gifts and pretty clothes. Regrettably unable to attend for many years, she was a member of the Rita Baptist Church at Rita, WV.
Thankful to our Lord, her suffering has come to an end. Rest Mommy. You deserve all the comfort and peace that you now have. We will love and miss you for the rest of our days.
