Alma Jean Booth
Of Harts, WV
Alma Jean Booth, 83, of Harts, joined her husband in their heavenly home on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at her home, after a long illness.
She was born on April 10, 1934, at Harts, a daughter of the late Everett and Fara Bell Kelly Adkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Booth; three sons, Earl Booth, Jr., Ronald J. Booth, and Jimmy Allen Booth; and seven brothers and sisters.
Jean was a home maker and raised eight sons. A member of Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Jean loved talking about her Savior to everyone she met. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. Jean enjoyed growing flowers, inside and out, sewing, and crocheting. She loved the outdoors; growing vegetables, picking greens, berry picking and of course the canning of the abundance she accumulated. She was all about family; spending time with her children and grandchildren was her passion.
Those left to cherish her memory are five sons, Randall (Vickie) Booth of Lyburn, Thomas (Melissa) Booth of Accoville, Stacy (Terri) Booth of Logan, and Richard Booth and Jason (Donna) Booth, both of Dingess; two sisters, Karen and Margie; one brother, Thomas Adkins; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand-daughter along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess with Rev. Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
