Harold Stacy Sr.
Of Mallory, WV
Harold Stacy Sr., 87, of Mallory, departed this life on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 8, 1930, in Freemont, VA, a son of the late Lumey and Lydia Blankenship Stacy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of sixty-eight years, Helen Frances Ferguson Stacy, two infant sons, Tommy and Terry Stacy; three sisters, Violet Boyd, Alphia Hannah and Ruby Price; four brothers, Cecil, Claude, Earl, and Carl Stacy.
Harold was a loving, caring husband and father. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and friends. Harold loved to study his Bible and teach, he was a devoted Christian and a faithful attendant of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He loved sharing Gods word anytime and anywhere. Harold will be sadly missed by his family and many, many long time friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Charlene (Ronnie) Stephens of Davin, Nancy (Jack) Stowers of Mallory, and Penny (Nickey) Johnston of Barboursville; five sons, Harold (Teresa) Stacy Jr. of Lundale, Jerry (Dawn) Stacy of Lundale, Ray (Tammy) Stacy of Claypool, Sammy Stacy of Man, and Bobby Stacy of Lapeer, MI; 19 grandchildren, Camie (Oliver) Hunt, Denean (Chuck) Hill, Harold III, Steven, and Wendy Stacy, Jeramey (Paula) Stacy, Stephanie (Eric) Sigmon, Kellie (Joe) Nelson, Kimberly (Alex) Toler, Ashley (Brian) Lusk, Paige Stacy, Samantha (Bobby) Adkins, Ashton Conley, Terri Deflumerie, Jack Stowers III, Staci (Michael) Long, Tabitha (Cory) Spence, and Brittany and Danielle Stacy; 19 great-grandchildren, Courtney Hunt Johnson, Trey Hunt, Tristan Brown, Charlie Hill, Bethaney and Grayson Stacy, Peyton and Erica Sigmon, Austin, Brandon, and Ashley Nelson, Lexie and Aiden Lusk, Baylee and Garren Lawson, Charleigh Jo Conley, Gavin, Tyler, and Nick Long; two great-great-grandchildren, Kinlee Johnson and Braelyn Nelson; and one brother-in-law, Walter Price; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Dad's caregivers, Jack and Nancy Stowers, Lynn Paynter, and Missy Cline.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Mike Johnson and Brother Nathan Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall bearers will be Nickey Johnston, Jack Stowers, Jeramey Stacy, Harold Stacy III, Trey Hunt, Bobby Adkins, Oliver Hunt, Michael Long, and Cory Spence.
Honorary pall bearers will be Russell Greene, Doc Allen, Jim Evans, Blaine Lester, Bobby Johnson, Roy Lambert, Jerry Walker, Joe Montgomery, Roger Thompson, and Jimmy Chapman.
