Okey Monroe Davis
Of Lorado, WV
Okey Monroe Davis, 76, of Lorado, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 9, 2017, leaving from his home at Lorado, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on October 23, 1940, at Gilbert, a son of the late Garfield and Frances Mounts Davis.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Okey was a coal miner who retired after 17½ years of service. He always enjoyed reading his Bible every day, especially on his front porch when weather permitted. Okey attended a variety of local churches when he was able.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Lovena Adkins Davis; two sons, Elbert and his fiancé, Ashley, and her two daughters, Annika and Aracoma, of Crown City, OH and Randy "Twinkie" Davis and his wife, Jennifer, of Robinette; one brother, James "Bunchy" Davis of Gilbert; several nieces and nephews; a special friend and driver, Kathy Kay Brunty of Lorado; a special niece, Jaddie Montgomery of Lorado; and a special friend, Sherry Frye of Lorado; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Earl Robinson and Rev. Rindy Canterbury, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be Freddy Frye, Naaman "Punkin" Dunn Jr., Ryan Linville, Rindy Canterbury Jr., Billy "Droopy" Johnson, and Gary "Little Man" Blankenship.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
