Dorothy Jane Ellis
Of Earling, WV
Dorothy Jane Ellis, 70, of Earling, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 19, 2017, leaving from CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston, after a long illness.
She was born on June 13, 1946, at Madison Creek, a daughter of the late Berthel and Flora Mae Meeks Maynard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy Mae Ellis and Betty Sue Ellis; and one brother, Milford Ray Maynard.
Dorothy was a home maker and a loving wife and mother. She loved to cook, can, fish, go on camping trips, and browse through flea markets.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 54 years, Donald L. Ellis; five sons, Danny Lee Maynard of Earling, Donald Liwis (Regina) Ellis, Jr. of Lorado, James Ellis of Mallory, Jimmy (Angie) Ellis of Madison Creek, and Willie Joe (Ellen) Ellis of Davin; three sisters, Dorislene Nichols of Madison Creek, Dorie Jean (James) Blunt of Lyburn, and Judy (Jesse) Cramer of Lexington, NC; nine grandchildren, Flora Mae Ellis, Justin Duncan and his fiancé Paige, Nathan Duncan, Kody Ellis, A.J. Ellis, Diana Ward, Brian Ward, Andrew Ward, and Cindella Ward; and one great-grandchild, Carter Lee Duncan along with a host of other relatives and friends.
In honor of Dorothy's wishes, her remains have been cremated.
A memorial celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the First Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Clyde Robertson officiating.
Her cremains will be laid to rest at a later date at the Ellis Family Cemetery at Wayne.
